It was with great pleasure that David Hart, a Randstad Education supply teacher working at The Gatehouse in mIlton Keynes, was presented with his 'Teacher of the Term' award in front of all his fellow teaching colleagues.
e award recognises those supply teachers who have shown outstanding commitment and dedication in their role and David had been nominated by Laurie French (Deputy Head) at The Gatehouse.
"David has worked with us for 3 days per week for some time now. We are challenging place to work and David fulfils a huge variety of roles for us at point of need. Whether he works in our Nurture House, as a stalwart supply teacher in a number of subject areas or as a mobile support for our students and staff when they have difficulties, David can always raise a smile and try to engage students with a friendly word or non-confrontational action. The students like his calm manner and eclectic knowledge - from bee keeping to science to maths - and yes the honey is lovely!!!! He is a great person to have around the school and when I do a 'who can I put here?' look around the staffroom when emergency cover is required, I always get a positive look returned and a willing person to help out.
We are very lucky to have David working with us and hope he knows we appreciate his work on behalf of The Gatehouse School staff and students.
