It was with great pleasure that Stephen Dutt, a Randstad
Education supply teacher working at Lord Grey School was today
presented with his 'Teacher of the Term' award in front of all
his fellow teaching colleagues.
The award recognises those supply teachers who have shown
outstanding commitment and dedication in their role and Stephen
had been nominated by Janet Holloway-Smith and David Smith at
Lord Grey.
"Stephen has been teaching in our Science faculty, even
though he is a teacher of humanities He has shown a great deal
of commitment whilst at Lord Grey and has taken on many
additional tasks, such as planning and marking, etc, which is a
huge help to the faculty He only wanted to work 3 or 4 days but
has continually agreed to help us out and stay with us for 5
days each week Stephen has more recently been working with our
teacher to hand the classes over to him - our teacher observing
his lessons, team teaching, sharing the timetable to name a few
things Generally, working together for the benefit of the
students learning He always arrives on time, smartly presented
and is a true professional who has been a real bonus at Lord
Grey School"
On receipt of his reward Stephen commented "Whatever success
I have achieved as a supply teacher at Lord Grey School has
been very largely due to the support I have received in the
Science department, who have accepted me as a co-professional
even as my main subject is History! The agency has also been
totally supportive in negotiating working hours on my behalf
and enabling me to work part time. In conclusion my experience
as a supply teacher has been a very positive one to date and my
thanks must go to all colleagues at Lord Grey and Randstad
Education (Milton Keynes)"
