Description

SEN Learning Support Assistant - BSL ESSENTIAL, south west London

This is an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant with BSL Levels 1 and 2. The position is full time and has excellent opportunities for progression and training.

This unique school for hearing impaired students achieved an "Outstanding" in its' latest OFSTED report, a fact which the team is very proud of. The school is based in a small and homely building, which encourages a close-knit family environment where pupils form trusting relationships with adults and engage well with their learning. Staff retention is extremely high, and as such this is a rare opportunity.

The pupils at the school truly enjoy their education. Aged between 7 and 17 years, and with a variety of severe and enduring learning difficulties, pupils follow a curriculum encompassing literacy, numeracy, ICT and communication skills. The school provides specialist education for deaf learners, and British Sign Language is one of the primary forms of communication. This role is extremely challenging yet rewarding, and may also include involvement in extra-curricular activities such as film and music clubs.

The successful candidate will be qualified up to BSL level 2 and have recent experience working with students with EBD. They will be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. The LSA must also be able to travel to south west London on a daily basis, and be able to start immediately.

To be considered for this or other roles please send your CV to Emma at london@randstadeducation.co.uk. All appointments are subject to full Safer Recruitment vetting procedures including enhanced CRB disclosure.
