Temporary Nursery Class Teacher required ASAP for the duration of the Summer Term 2012 in Blackburn.
Our client school in Blackburn is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Nursery Teacher who has the capacity to develop into an imaginative and first class practitioner committed to raising levels of pupil achievement.

JOB DESCRIPTION
1. To plan effective delivery of the curriculum by:
• Completing mid-term planning for each half-term prior to the beginning of that half-term
• Completing weekly planning for all subject areas in advance
• Using Numeracy Unit Plans appropriate to the needs of the pupils
• Using Literacy Unit Plans appropriate to the needs of the pupils
• Evaluating planning taking into account the needs of the pupils
• Ensuring that the needs of all pupils are catered for by differentiating questions, activities and support
• Ensuring that TAs who are supporting learning share planning
• Ensuring that planning for HLTAs, TAs and supply teachers is clear and easy to follow and where appropriate is given well in advance of the lesson
2. To monitor, assess and track pupil progress by implementing the school's assessment policy which ensures:
• On-going informal assessments of all pupils in class
• Formal assessments at agreed times
• Tracking of pupils' progress to identify where intervention is required
• Tracking progress of intervention groups
• Collection and analysis of attainment data to ensure that all pupils are making appropriate progress (PAT to be used consistently throughout the school)
• Clear and relevant marking of pupils' work
• Setting of layered curriculum targets for Numeracy and Literacy at the beginning of each term
• Sharing targets with pupils, parents and carers through home/school book
• Setting of individual targets for pupils to inform them of how to move forward in their learning
• Using AFL strategies to raise attainment
• Updating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating IEPs for SEN pupils, liaison with the SENCo where appropriate and keeping parents/carers informed of progress
3. To work as an effective member of the school team by:
• Working collaboratively with other teachers and TAs (in the same year group, Primary Stage and throughout school)
